Private Instruction

William has been a private instructor since 2003 for individuals as well as both large and small groups ranging in ages from 8 to 80.  While each student is different, the number one aspect stressed for William’s studio is taking joy in playing music. Lessons are offered in the Atlanta area for all levels of saxophone and clarinet and intermediate flute.  William also provides private/group lessons for Jazz improvisation and Music Theory.

Clinician

William has held clinics over a wide range of music topics for a diverse number of audiences.  From elementary assemblies, church groups, Pre-K music programs, to Arts clubs, William has encountered it all.  His clinics on Woodwinds cover basic instrument construction and fundamentals of all woodwind instruments.  He also covers the host of different genres in which these instruments are applied and any number of other topics based group interest.  Clinics on Jazz cover a host of topics and are tailored to the specific group’s needs.  For example, some of these topics are Jazz history, the ins and outs of improvisation, style, ear training and transcription, and modern jazz artists.

Music Theory

Throughout his educational career, William has excelled in music theory.  He has participated in AP and advanced theory classes in high school and college.  He is available for AP Theory, jazz theory, and general theory tutoring.

School Demos & Sectionals

William has held demos and lead sectionals on Woodwinds, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Theory at the Elementary, Middle, and High School level for over 4 years and is comfortable with ANY size group.  He has lead school assemblies for over 200 children as well as leading small group sectionals as a part of regular band programs.  He has featured many of his different groups including Saxophone quartets, Funk groups, Big Bands, and Contemporary Jazz bands for diverse audiences and locations.
